The Norfolk Society of Arts concluded its 2025–2026 season with a memorable Annual Meeting, Special Lecture, and Spring Benefit Luncheon at The Chrysler Museum of Art—an afternoon celebrating art, history, and community.
Guests gathered in the Kaufman Theater for a captivating lecture by best-selling author and award-winning journalist Meryl Gordon. In her presentation, “The Woman Who Knew Everyone: The Power of Perle Mesta, Washington’s Most Famous Hostess,” Gordon brought to life the fascinating story of Perle Mesta, the influential Washington hostess and diplomat whose connections spanned four U.S. presidents and decades of American political and social history. Following the lecture, attendees enjoyed the opportunity to meet the author during a book signing.
The celebration continued in the beautiful setting of Huber Court, where members and guests gathered for the Spring Benefit Luncheon. Over a delicious catered meal and wine, attendees enjoyed lively conversation while supporting the NSA Conservation Fund, which helps preserve treasured works of art for future generations.
As we close another remarkable season, we extend our sincere gratitude to our members, supporters, and guests for making this year’s programs such a success. The Norfolk Society of Arts remains committed to presenting engaging lectures and meaningful cultural experiences that celebrate the arts and inspire curiosity.
We look forward to welcoming you back for another exciting season ahead.
