Reintroducing the Frick's collection at 1 E 70th Street

The return of the Frick’s collection of European paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts to its Gilded Age mansion follows an ambitious period of renovation. Originally constructed in 1914 as a private home for Henry Clay Frick, the Frick has undergone several changes over the past century, most recently through a comprehensive revitalization of gallery spaces and visitor amenities. Aimee Ng, John Updike Curator, will share insights into the challenges and opportunities involved in reinstalling this historic art collection back in its home at 1 East 70th Street.

Aimee Ng is a curator and specialist in Italian Renaissance art at The Frick Collection. She has organized major exhibitions on artists such as Bertoldo di Giovanni, Moroni, Parmigianino, and Andrea del Sarto, as well as contemporary shows like Barkley L. Hendricks: Portraits at the Frick (2023–24). Ng played a central role in developing the Frick’s Essential Guide, audio tours, and the reinstallation of the museum’s collection. She also co-curated Living Histories: Queer Views and Old Masters and helped launch the Frick’s new exhibition galleries. Ng appears in the popular video series Cocktails with a Curator and What’s Her Story?
