Join FAMSF Director and CEO and renowned tapestry scholar Thomas P. Campbell for an exhilarating exploration of the seven monumental tapestries created to commemorate the Battle of Pavia. Exquisitely woven in staggering detail, these 16th-century masterworks provide viewers with an immersive look into a decisive event that changed the course of European history.
Thomas P. Campbell is Director and CEO of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and former Director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A renowned art historian with degrees from Oxford and the Courtauld Institute, he is known for his groundbreaking exhibitions on Renaissance and Baroque tapestry. At both institutions, Campbell has championed access, education, and community engagement—expanding audiences and deepening the role of art in public life.
